DR Health Travel opened for business as a tour operator specialized in medical travel and wellness tourism.
The company arises in a great moment for this industry in a country that receives thousands of patients from the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.
DR Health Travel launched at the 39th FITUR International Tourism Fair 2019, becoming the first tour operator and travel agency dedicated to medical travel, wellness, and event organization in the Dominican Republic.
Maireny Infante, commercial director of the agency, explained that its objective is to offer comprehensive packages that unify health services and tourism at the highest quality standards and competitive prices while providing the traveler with an opportunity to enjoy the attractions available in the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Health Tourism Association, which also participates at the Fair in Madrid, Spain, supports the upcoming efforts in providing quality services to medical travelers.
What is DR Health Travel offer
DR Health Travel offers packages and individual procedures such as executive check-ups, surgical and aesthetic care, dental and ophthalmological services, special spa programs, and wellness clubs.
“DR Health Travel was born with the purpose of taking advantage of the synergy of the quality of our health professionals and the experience of our tourism industry, which allows us to offer travelers a renewed offer in health tourism”, added Infante.
The Dominican Republic is the fifth country with the greatest potential for the development of health tourism according to the Medical Tourism Index.
The island is the main destination of the Caribbean for this activity, allowing the country to offer regulated and certified integrated solutions for medical travelers.
Dominican Republic, the leader in Caribbean tourism and pioneers in Latin America, participates for the first time as Partner Country in the 39th FITUR International Tourism Fair 2019, held from January 23rd to the 28th.
The local representation is led by the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia, who was greeted by King and Queen of Spain Felipe V and Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano and other personalities and officials of Spaniards.
The country displays its “Dominican Republic Has It All” slogan at the stand 3B03 of 408 Mts 2 placed in pavilion 3 of the Juan Carlos I fairgrounds.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, hotel executives, national banking representatives, tour operators, travel agents, officials of the Ministry of Tourism, journalists, and directors of entities of the tourist sector of the country, and representatives from the tourist clusters of Samana, Puerto Plata, La Romana.
